resting brunch face, Poulsbo

By

(This story was delayed due to my coming down with a bad case of the flu. I spent most of this week watching F1: Drive to Survive on Netflix, and living on the two brain cells I had left to work with.)

Last Sunday morning found me at the Skal House Pub located in downtown Poulsbo.

The event I was attending was “Resting Brunch Face” which is a monthly drag brunch event. This show has been taking place, one Sunday a month, for almost over a year. I was excited to have an opportunity to support friends, causes I love, and get some delicious brunch all in the same location.

Upon finding the correct place, I was greeted by friendly faces and a small place for a vendor set up. The vendor was Kirsten’s Crochet Crafts.

The space was packed full of people wanting to see a show. Satonya D Nix and friends delivered a fantastic show full of upbeat positive energy. Every performer was a master of interaction with the crowd. All of the outfits were fashionable, and were well thought out. Speaking with the performers inbetween their space in the program, I learned about how much time, dedication and effort is placed in making a good show a “top notch” presentation.

I enjoyed chicken and waffles off the brunch menu, and it was the best chicken and waffles ever. I’m sorry I could not finish it.

I left at intermission. I slept from Poulsbo back to Port Orchard and passed out on my bed upon returning home.

Thank you to everyone involved in a great event-including the cast of Resting Brunch Face, Skal House Pub and so many others behind the scenes. I would absolutely recommend returning for this show (it is 21+) and I was glad to have had the opportunity to attend.
